The Melbourne Winter Baseball League Junior Competition is a fun, inclusive and safe environment for young players to learn how to play baseball and make new friends.
Our Junior Competitions are open to children and young people of all abilities, genders and experience levels, with opportunities to learn and grow their skills and build their confidence on and off the baseball field.
A player must be the prescribed age for their age group by 31 August of the playing season. The age breakdowns for our junior baseball competitions include:
The MWBL is committed to governance, compliance and education around the Child Safety Act. We want to create leaders in our junior baseball community, to give our young players the tools to succeed on and off the field.
Child safety is not an add-on or one-off exercise. It is a legal requirement that our clubs and community members need to be compliant with. Having policies and procedures in place is not enough. It’s about creating a culture and environment within sport that is supportive and protective of children.
