The Knox Falcons have taken out the B-grade premiership with a 10-0 shutout win over Croydon last Saturday.
From the first pitch, Knox showed their intent, piling on runs early and never letting Croydon settle into the contest.
Their batting lineup proved too strong, finding gaps consistently and capitalising on every opportunity, while the pitching held firm to shut down any chance of a Croydon comeback.
By the middle innings, the result seemed beyond doubt, as Knox’s depth and discipline shone through in front of a strong crowd.
The one-sided affair was a stark contrast to the close battles these two sides have shared in recent years.
Croydon fought hard to stay in the game but couldn’t match Knox’s intensity or execution on the day, as every facet of the contest tilted towards the eventual champions.
For Knox, the triumph is more than just a single victory — it marks the end of a three-year pursuit of grand final glory.
Coach Donavon Hendricks praised his players for their resilience and determination throughout the season.
“We are thrilled and happy after that performance. We set a plan 3 years ago to achieve this goal, and we are very proud of our efforts,” he said.
Knox’s season was one for the books with 17 wins and just one loss in 2025.
The victory not only cements Knox’s status as one of the competition’s powerhouses but also rewards the club’s commitment to development and persistence after falling short in recent campaigns.
“There weren’t many negatives this season. The boys trained very hard each week for us to get to this stage and win the game,” Hendricks said.
Congratulations to Knox for a triumphant season, and commiserations to Croydon despite also putting together an impressive year.
