GMBC kept piling on the pressure, putting runners on base and making the most of their opportunities. While Essendon struggled to find an answer, GMBC’s defence remained rock solid, shutting down any chance of a comeback.
With the final innings approaching, GMBC held a commanding 5–1 lead. Essendon needed something special — but GMBC weren’t giving them anything.
The final out was made, the dugout erupted, and the celebrations began.
