Doncaster-Croydon capped off their season in style on Saturday, defeating Werribee-Point Cook 13–6 to claim the U15 Division 2 Green Grand Final.
Doncaster-Croydon made an immediate impact, scoring two runs in the opening inning while keeping Werribee-Point Cook scoreless. They then broke the game open in the second, adding five more runs to establish an early 7–0 advantage.
Werribee-Point Cook responded with two runs of their own before both sides added another in the third, leaving Doncaster-Croydon ahead 8–3 as the Grand Final moved into its latter stages.
With the premiership on the line, Werribee-Point Cook continued to fight and found another three runs, but Doncaster-Croydon had an answer. The Dragons added five more runs to their total and held firm defensively to secure a 13–6 victory and the premiership.
It was a fitting end to the season for Doncaster-Croydon and a competitive Grand Final from both teams, played in front of families and supporters who created a terrific atmosphere around the diamond.
