Knox and Sunshine Battle to Hard-Fought Draw in U17 Division 2

Knox and Sunshine played out an entertaining 2–2 draw in U17 Division 2 two Saturdays ago, with neither side able to break the deadlock after a closely contested match-up.

Knox made the brighter start, scoring two early runs to seize the momentum and put Sunshine under immediate pressure. But Sunshine responded with resilience, pulling a run back before adding another in the third inning to level the scores.

With the game tied, both teams lifted another gear.

Sunshine’s Mason Cvetanoski and Brodie Leigh combined effectively on the mound, producing a composed pitching performance that kept Knox’s offence in check.

Knox’s Ethan Sissing matched them with quality pitching of his own, ensuring every run was hard-earned.

Behind their pitchers, both teams delivered strong defensive efforts, making important plays in the field to shut down scoring opportunities and keep the contest evenly balanced through the closing innings.

Neither side could find the decisive breakthrough, with the final score remaining locked at 2–2.

It was a terrific display of junior baseball, with both teams showing composure, determination and teamwork in a game that could easily have gone either way.
