La Trobe Pulls Away from Warriors — With Some Unexpected Spectators

La Trobe University claimed a 14–7 victory over the South East Warriors in B Reserve on Saturday, in a high-scoring contest watched by some unexpected visitors from a neighbouring farm.

The Warriors started strongly, crossing the plate three times in the opening inning to immediately put La Trobe under pressure. La Trobe responded with two runs of their own before adding another two in the second to edge ahead 4–3.

The game turned in the third inning.

La Trobe’s offence found another gear, piling on seven runs in a decisive burst that opened up an 11–6 advantage and put the Warriors on the back foot.

With a few curious horses taking up prime viewing positions alongside the ground, La Trobe continued to apply pressure, adding another three runs in the fourth inning to strengthen their lead.

South East Warriors continued to compete and managed to bring another run home, but couldn’t overcome La Trobe’s powerful middle innings.

The final score finished 14–7 in La Trobe’s favour after an entertaining afternoon of B Reserve baseball — with both the players and their four-legged spectators seeing plenty of action.
