North Balwyn and Greenhills Montmorency couldn’t be separated in a high-scoring Women’s Division 2 Green contest, playing out an entertaining 12–12 draw.
GMBC made the stronger start, crossing the plate three times in the opening inning to take an early advantage. North Balwyn quickly responded, however, putting up five runs in the second to swing the momentum their way.
Monty’s defence worked hard to keep the game within reach, with Elizabeth Cox and Rosie Kerr producing impressive catches to limit North Balwyn’s opportunities in the second inning.
The back-and-forth contest continued as GMBC added another two runs in the third, but North Balwyn again found an answer, with a seven-run surge putting them in a strong position.
Greenhills Montmorency refused to let the game slip away, combining timely hitting with determined defence to fight their way back into the contest.
With both teams continuing to create opportunities on the bases, neither side could find the decisive breakthrough, leaving the honours shared at 12–12 after an afternoon of entertaining and competitive baseball.
